The Australian Girls Choir (AGC) is the country's leading performing arts organisation for girls, and today has 4,700 choristers aged 5 to 18 in training across Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. AGC is the first of two branches of the Australian School of Performing Arts (ASPA), which has established a reputation as one of Australia’s leading providers of performing arts education since 1984.
The second branch of the organisation, a3 – Australian Arts Alive, has inspired a love of the performing arts in thousands of students and teachers across Australia, through dynamic school, holiday and professional development programmes. For 30 years the AGC has dazzled audiences all around the world with their vibrant performances; becoming a much loved Australian cultural icon.
The founding philosophy behind the AGC is that every child can learn to sing given encouragement and training. Any girl aged 5 and above is invited to join the AGC, and we encourage you to contact us to find out more about the choir and organise a complimentary trial class. We are known for our ability to excite audiences with our impressive choreographed routines, vibrant performance costumes and exquisite singing.
Our choristers have sung for the world’s most influential people including President Obama, Queen Elizabeth II and Oprah Winfrey and have performed with an impressive list of celebrities including Pharrell Williams, Hugh Jackman and INXS. A true recognition of the choir’s success is its selection by Qantas to represent the ‘Spirit of Australia’ in the hugely successful ‘I Still Call Australia Home’ advertising campaigns. As Australia’s most in demand performing arts organisation, you can feel assured that you are securing the best.
